A man was arrested on suspicion of Encrochat drug offences after police spotted him in a taxi.
A 24-year-old man from Blundellsands was arrested on suspicion for conspiracy to acquire and use a firearm and conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs. Operation Pelican officers arrested the man on Monday, April 25 as part of the ongoing Encrochat Operation Venetic investigations.
The man has been wanted by Merseyside Police in relation to the matter since August 2021 until he was seen by officers yesterday in a taxi. This led officers to an apartment in the Waterloo area where they spotted the man entering.

After forcing entry to the property officers detained the man along with another man present. A quantity of cocaine, heroin and cannabis were located in the apartment. Police also seized over £3,000 which is suspected to be from the proceeds of criminal activity.
The man remains in custody to be questioned by detectives.
