During the trial, witness Jeffrey McConney testified that it was common practice for employees to submit invoices for expense reimbursements. McConney recalled a specific email he sent to Michael Cohen, who was President Trump's personal attorney at the time, in February 2017.
In the email, McConney reminded Cohen to provide him with the invoices that had been discussed with another individual named Allen. The subject line of the email simply read '$$' and the message was brief: 'Just a reminder to get me the invoices you spoke to Allen about. Thanks, Jeff.'
Trump's attorney objected to the document being presented as evidence during the trial.
