Emmerdale actor Kevin Mathurin has teased there's still a lot more to come from the Meena storyline.
Evil serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) has finally been charged for the murders of Leanna Cavanagh, Ben Tucker and Andrea Tate as well as the attempted murders of many village residents including Victoria Sugden, Leyla Cavanagh, Manpreet Sharma and Vinny Dingle. Meena has also been charged with kidnapping Dawn Taylor and Billy Fletcher.
But there is still a lot more planned for the Meena storyline and actor Kevin - who plays vicar Charles Anderson in the ITV soap - has teased what's still too come for the soap supervillain.
"This storyline is just plot twist after plot twist. I've read ahead and it's exciting, very exciting," he told Digital Spy, "It's going to be a great crescendo to an ongoing storyline. It feels like it's never-ending, but it's worth it!"
Kevin loved working alongside Paige in new scenes, which will see Meena attempt to manipulate Charles by revealing all to him about how his former love Andrea Tate died in the maize maze fire.
He added: "It was amazing. When I read the scripts, I looked forward to it and I couldn't wait to film those scenes.
"It went even better than I expected, because Paige was amazing. In the game-playing we did, I wanted to match Paige and make that scene as strong as I knew it could be. I feel happy with what we've done. I'm looking forward to the audience seeing it."
Kevin teased things get worse for Charles as the Meena storyline continues.
"Meena finally does confess, but she uses it as an opportunity to stick the knife in," he explained, "There's a test of wills and strength between her and Charles. It's like a stand-off at that particular visit.
"So Meena breaks him by describing every detail of what happened to Andrea. Charles is broken by this. It's painful because there's a part of him that feels guilty for Andrea's death, especially with being in love with Manpreet and moving on from Andrea so quickly."
However, bosses have assured fans there will be a judgement day for Meena soon.
"I think it's fair to say that judgement day for Meena is coming. But whether she'll get away with murder you're going to have to wait and find out," executive producer Jane Hudson teased to The Mirror and other press.
