Emmerdale star Rosie Bentham has revealed there could be a huge Nicky identity twist ahead.
The actress - who plays Gabby on the ITV soap - has been getting closer and closer with Nicky, who was hired by Kim as a nanny for Gabby's baby Thomas. The pair's romance is blossoming, but they have been keen to keep it a secret for now at least out of fears that it could ruin his chance of staying on at Home Farm and with the family.
However, fans are sure Nicky isn't quite who he says he is - as actor Lewis Cope teased the character could be "too good to be true".
Now actress Rosie has detailed more about the upcoming storyline, as she commented on fans' wild theories about Nicky and his identity, with some viewers convinced he's linked to Jamie Tate, Caleb Milligan or even to Thomas King, who is thought be making a huge return to the ITV soap in the coming months after a string of years off screen.
She told Metro.co.uk: The speculation is really funny to look at. I don’t think anyone’s got it bang on at the minute. It’s so great. No one’s actually thinking that this guy is who he says he is.
"It’s a soap so who knows, but Gabby definitely sees him as this perfect boy who’s come in and could change her life for the better."
She added: "Gabby and Nicky are so in love with each other. They’re so smitten at the minute. Gabby shocked the viewers with how quickly she flung herself on to Nicky as soon as he walked through the door, but that is very typical Gabby."
Lewis previously teased fans would have to "wait and see" what secrets Nicky is hiding.
Asked if Nicky had any dark secrets, actor Lewis spilled: "At the moment he's a lovely person, and there's nothing to say [otherwise].... he kind of fits the bill. He is almost too good to be true though, but we'll have to wait and see."
With it hinted more will come out about him later down the line, he then said when asked about any possible secret links to other villagers: "Nothing has come through yet... but it's a soap."
Executive producer Jane Hudson added: "We've also got Home Farm and a new actor, Lewis Cope, the nanny at Home Farm. I think this is the first time Home Farm has had a nanny.
"He's a very good looking nanny who catches the eye of Gabby the minute he walks in. There's lots of fun in store for Nicky and Gabby as we watch their fledgling romance and like any good story, there will be a few reveals along the way."
