Emmerdale actor Laura Norton has been open with her weight loss journey over the years after shedding a dramatic three stone during a lifestyle overhaul.
The soap star, who is best known for her role as Kerry Wyatt on the ITV soap, managed to lose more than 19kg with just one small change to her diet.
Joining the cast in 2012, she has undergone a major transformation during her decade on the show. She previously revealed how her character's penchant for skimpy clothing motivated her to make a change.
She ended up losing three stone by cutting Coca Cola from her diet after admitting she used to drink four litres of the popular fizzy drink per day.
She told The Mirror in 2018 : “It was about three years ago when I started to lose weight. I was in skimpy outfits all the time on telly, and the camera also adds weight to you, so I thought I'd do something.
“I started to do a bit of exercise, which I hadn’t done for years. You get a bit older and weight is harder to lose. Then I cut the Coca-Cola out and started to notice the difference and then just decided to keep it up."
Emmerdale character Kerry has become a firm favourite amongst fans and has been embroiled in several major storylines during her time on the show, including that deadly fire that killed Frank.
Kerry, who is the mother of Amy Wyatt, is currently embroiled in the Amelia Spencer pregnancy storyline. She has become a source of comfort and advice for Amelia as she is able to relate to her after having a baby herself at a young age.
In June 2020 Kerry stopped appearing on-screen and her absence was explained as the character visiting a friend. In real life, actress Laura Norton was on maternity leave.
While Kerry may never be far away from the drama, thankfully, actor Laura's life off-screen is much less dramatic, she is happily engaged to former co-star, Mark Jordan.
