Emmerdale spoilers as The Woolpack new owner bidding begins

Emmerdale fans look away now, this article contains spoilers.

Emmerdale fans will know the Woolpack has been hit hard by the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic over the past few years.

And things only got worse when the pub was left in tatters on Christmas Day last year due to an epic explosion which almost killed sisters Meena Jutla and Manpreet Sharma.

But new beginnings are on the horizon for the much-loved pub in the heart of the village and as any true Emmerdale fans will know, the changing of the guard at the boozer is a momentous event.

You can find out all the latest Emmerdale news and gossip by visiting our homepage dedicated to the soap.

This week viewers will be introduced to the new owners of the legendary village pub as Chas Dingle meets the new landlord in the second episode of the ITV soap on Thursday, January, 27.

That means the fight for who's going to control it is finally over after an intense few months.

Chas, who has fought tooth and nail to save her beloved boozer, has finally accepted defeat as she sees her home and business sold off at auction.

But who's going to have their name over the door?

Could it be an outsider or maybe someone a little closer to home? Some fans predict business Kim Tate could have summoned Chas to sell the iconic pub to her.

While others think that after the whole Cain and Al drama following the fire, he could be the one to buy the pub keeping it in the Dingle family.

Many have taken to Twitter to share their predictions.

"I think Kim should run the pub #Emmerdale," one fan said.

While another had a very interesting theory: "Why don’t the Dingles do a deal with Kim and have Paddy ‘fix’ another of her racing horses - then the whole family far and wide put loads of bets on, spread across many bookmakers. The horse wins, Kim takes a cut and they have money to save the pub. Simple! #emmerdale."

Another fan tweeted: ""Cain to buy Woolpack and give it back to Chas & Marlon. #emmerdale."

"The auction on Feb 3rd. Please don't let a Dingle own the pub again #Emmerdale" said another.

It comes after Emmerdale's Executive Producer Laura Shaw recently said: "I think we’re going to see a lot more pushing and things might get a little bit worse for Chas and Paddy before they get better.

"From the ashes of Christmas Day, we’re going to see a shiny new Woolpack emerge this year and the fight for who’s going to control it will definitely be on.

"Who’s going to be victoriously holding their keys at the end of it though? Who’s going to have their name over the door? You’re going to have to watch to find out."

While it has not been revealed who will buy the Woolpack, we do know the auction for the pub begins this week.

Charity finds out Kim is planning to put in a bid for the Woolpack and breaks the news to Chas, who refuses to go to the auction not wanting to see Kim get the pub.

But despite her initial doubts Charity gives Chas the courage to attend.

Viewers will see Cain shoot his hand up and make an offer just as the auctioneer is ready to sell the Woolpack to this highest bidder but he narrowly misses out to an online bidder.

The mystery online bidder wins the auction as Marlon and Chas eagerly wait to find out who the new owner is.

Faith doesn't catch the name of the bidder but is informed they want to meet Chas and Marlon in person.

Chas is apprehensive and nervous about who it could be.

The tell all episode airs Thursday 3rd February 2022 at 8.00pm on ITV.
