Emmerdale actor Mark Charnock said goodbye to a fellow cast member after "superb" scenes aired.
The star is best known for playing Marlon Dingle in the long-running ITV soap - after first appearing on the Dales in 1996. Recent episodes have seen Marlon have, and subsequently embark on a long recovery from, a stroke.
During some of the emotional scenes, Marlon has been looked after by nurse Gail Hancock. Gail's final scenes aired earlier this week as Marlon was allowed to return home from hospital.
