Emmerdale legend Dominic Brunt will be welcoming his wife Joanne Mitchell back to the soap when she reprises her role as Sandra Flaherty.
Next week, we’ll see the acting star, 50, who has been married to Dominic Brunt, 52, since 2003. Down the years, Joanne has had a number of small roles in Emmerdale before she took on the more serious part of Sandra Flaherty back in 2016.
Discussing her return with Inside Soap, Joanne said: “It’s great. I’ve been in and out a few times over the years but this time we’re going to see a few more layers to Sandra’s character and develop her a bit more.

“So, we’ll see where the journey goes. It’s always good playing opposite Izzy Steel (who plays Sandra’s daughter Liv Flaherty) and I get to work with other members of the cast too. They’re a fabulous bunch.”
Of course, one member of the cast Joanne is very familiar with is Paddy Dingle star Dominic Brunt - Joanne’s real-life husband. Joanne has spoken about their working relationship on set.
“I haven’t seen Dominic at the studios yet since I’ve been back this time,” Joanne explained. “It’s fun to be on the same show but I’ve not actually worked with him yet. We haven’t had any scenes together as our characters live separate lives in the village.”
