Emmerdale star Lewis Cope has teased tensions will rise between Nicky and Caleb in the coming days.
On tonight's episode, Nicky admitted to Gabby he was gay and couldn't go through with the wedding, leaving her absolutely devastated. The sham relationship was to help Nicky and his father Caleb get an in at Home Farm, where Nicky works as a nanny.
It is part of Caleb's master plan to take what he believes is rightly his from Kim Tate, as he is the son of her late husband Frank Tate. However, it looks like there's more drama ahead - as Caleb learns what Nicky has done.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror over the weekend at the British Soap Awards, actor Lewis Cope - who plays Nicky - teased: "From day one, he's been dragged along by his father. He's always just gone along with it and this gets to the point where it gets super serious and he has to marry someone he doesn't want to be with."
He is of course referring to the scenes which aired this evening, as Nicky confessed to Gabby he was gay and couldn't go through with the wedding. Gabby was understandably horrified and unsure where she stands now.
"At the last hurdle, in Nicky's dad's eyes, he absolutely falls and crumbles and shatters the plan," Lewis went on to explain about what this might mean going forward, "So that is going to take a lot for Caleb to get over. For months of planning in the making, for Nicky to just take that away from him in one moment, he's not going to take to that kindly."
Caleb has this big plan to steal money from Kim, in the hope it might help solve all his financial worries.
He has sold himself as a businessman to Kim and his brother Cain Dingle but we know he actually has no money at all.
However this all ends, Kim will no doubt be furious when she finds out Caleb has fleeced her for all her life's savings.
Whatever happens, it is sure to be chaos when she finds out - but when will that be, or can Caleb keep things under wraps for now?
