Emmerdale fans 'work out' homophobic character twist

Emmerdale viewers are convinced that they have ‘worked out’ the real reason Arthurs LGBTQ assembly was cancelled as he almost shared a kiss with Marshall.

The teen came out as gay in powerful scenes last year and most recently he admitted that he had feelings for close friend Marshall but his crush humiliated him in front of his friends. The pair managed to sort thing out.

During tonight’s episode of the ITV soap Arthur was busy preparing a school assembly on LGBTQ+ history with April and Marshall.

Meanwhile mum Laurel was not happy with Arthur hanging around with Marshall as she believed him to be up to no good so she warned him to stay away.

Arthur was later left disappointed after learning someone had called the school to cancel his planned assembly. Jai suggested that maybe the person who complained had a good reason, which resulted in Arthur assuming it was him who made the call.

Later on Marshall approached Arthur, who was sitting alone outside the pirate ship. Arthur was taken aback after Marshall revealed that he would like to go on a date with him and he leaned in for a kiss.

However their special moment was interrupted after Marshall’s dad called him - the teen's face dropped as he pulled away and stormed off.

After Marshall’s reaction to his dad’s phone call, viewers are now convinced that the youngster's dad was the person who complained about the LGBTQ assembly and he would have a problem with their possible relationship.
