Emmerdale fans say same thing as ITV soap airs triple bill amid schedule shakeup

Emmerdale fans were left complaining the ITV soap triple bill was an ‘overload’ of the Dales on Thursday night, as viewers were treated to three episodes in a change to schedules.

The broadcaster and other channels have been continuously revising their published schedules following the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

Both Emmerdale and Coronation Street were axed from their usual time slots to allow for extended news coverage and in a bid to catch back up, ITV screened three episodes of Emmerdale at once.

The Emmerdale triple bill ran from 7:30pm and an hour of Coronation Street followed at 9pm.

ITV reintroduced Emmerdale back into the schedule on Tuesday, while Coronation Street aired on Monday night at its usual time of 8pm.

Taking to Twitter as the third episode got underway, one fan wrote: “I'm relying on twitter to get me through the next instalment of Emmerdale. This is getting tough now.”

A second fan penned: “Emmerdale overload tonight on ITV making up for missing eps in past/future,” as another echoed: “Triple! We’re being tortured er sorry spoilt!”

“Overdose of Emmerdale tonight, it's too much!” Another fan chimed as a fellow fan pointed out the confused use of end credits in between episodes, writing: “What is the point of having closing credits if we’re having one and a half hours of the same programme? I’m ConFused.com.”

“Another episode, this is one weird night,” one fan wrote as another added: “Bloody closing credits again. I’m sure they do this to wind us up.”

The triplet of episodes saw the Dales mount a village-wide search as Millie suddenly went missing, leaving Kim Tate horrified.

Harriet informed her the police have yet to find her – so has Jamie returned and taken her?

The youngster’s shock disappearance came after Kim finally found out the truth that her son is still alive.

The character learned Hazel had suffered an accident, but nothing could prepare her for what she finds out as she learns Hazel was pushed down the stairs by Jamie.

Earlier this year, Gabby Thomas and Dawn Taylor made the startling discovery that Jamie was most likely alive - after he faked his death in a car crash in September 2021.

Kim's partner Will Taylor has been let in on the secret, after a case of mistaken identity led to Gabby accidentally shooting him.

It was believed Jamie was back and alive, after last year's car crash, and Will soon asked his ex Harriet Finch to do some looking into the matter.

Deciding not to tell his partner Kim for the time being, he sought help from Harriet to find out if it was true.

But after some dodgy goings on with a private investigator, Will decided to leave well alone - and he was left wondering if he'd got it all wrong.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
