Emmerdale fans were left glued to their TV screens as they finally watched Kim Tate confront Caleb Milligan. The mid-week episode of the ITV soap saw viewers let in on the fact that the Home Farm matriarch knew what her planned new business partner was up to and had spilt all to his half-brother Cain.
Viewers have known for weeks and weeks that Caleb, portrayed by Will Ash, was planning to bring down Kim, played by Claire King, as he wanted to get his hands on what he believed was his birthright after discovering her ex-husband Frank Tate was his father. He also got his son, Nicky, to help with his plan, trying to force him to marry Gabby Thomas before he confessed he was gay on their wedding day.
But during Thursday night's trip to the Dales, fans of the Yorkshire-based soap got to see the confrontation unfold as Caleb tried to explain why he was planning to empty Kim's bank accounts before getting his hands on Home Farm, interspered with flashbacks to bring it all to life.

He also revealed how he'd spent years figuring out how to bring her down, even meeting with her late ex Graham Foster. And despite Caleb's plea to Cain that he was going to reimburse Moira after causing her financial ruin, Cain wasn't having any of it and demanded his brother flee the village for good.
Meanwhile, Nicky confessed everything to Gabby, after being left bloodied by his dad, including that he is Caleb's son and their plot to take down Kim.
After their confrontation was over, a heartbroken Gabby later cried to Kim and made her promise to take revenge on Caleb for all the hurt he had caused. "I promise you Gabby, with everything I've got, the gun is already loaded and my finger is on the trigger," Kim vowed.
And Emmerdale fans were left delighted with how the start of the action unfolded as they flocked to social media. @tracyd1805 said: "Absolutely fantastic episode tonight. Kim is a total Emmerdale legend and such a great character. This storyline was great and not finished yet..."
@1973wrightstuff commented: "Just restored my faith back in Emmerdale. Best Ep in a long time." @jayne_69 shared: "I couldn't take my eyes off the telly." @lovelybarbarax praised: "Tonight's show was brilliant. Loved every minute of it." @RyanTheSoapking added: "Without a doubt this is best episode of #Emmerdale since the Graham and Joe Tate Era. Definitely the best of 2023 so far ( if you exclude the Mack and Chloe stuff)."
But some did have a 'wish' that doesn't look set to come true. @_z.slater.430 said: "Ugh I really wanted Caleb to be able to get revenge it would be so satisfying for Kim’s smile to be wiped but I do love her character at the same time
@jagrover67 echoed: "Best episode in a long time.. wished Caleb had pulled it off but that goes to show how great an actress Claire King is lol." @elizabeth_odriscoll_ added: "Such a shame it all came out wrong for Calab. Was hoping he was going to get it all, considering. And as for that Will. Kims lap dog."
