Emmerdale fans were left divided as Meena Jutla found out the jury's verdict in her court case tonight.
Meena had been accused of murdering Ben Tucker, Andrea Tate and Leanna Cavanagh - and whilst the whole of the village and the audience all knew about her crimes, she had categorically denied them in court.
It meant that Dr Liam Cavanagh - Leanna's father - and Dr Manpreet Sharma - Meena's sister - had to take to the stand as they were quizzed about their relationship with Meena, as the killer accused them of being responsible for the deaths in one way or another.
But tonight, the verdict was finally handed down, as Meena was found guilty of all the charges made against her.
However, fans tuning into the ITV soap were divided by the guilty verdict, with some disappointed she would be sentenced to prison after her heinous crimes as they praised her "incredible" character.
"Unpopular opinion it seems but I f***ing love Meena and even though I no longer watch #Emmerdale, I’m actually gutted she’s leaving! Best character that’s been on the show for years and I wish she could continue her murdering spree tbh," one wrote.
A second added: "She’s great! I’ll be sad to see her go!!," as a third shared: "Despite what everyone says, I have LOVED the Meena storyline! The performances from everyone involved over the last year and a half has been stellar. But what made this storyline was the performance of Paige Sandhu, give her all of the awards now. #Emmerdale."
However, others were glad that the villagers and the families were finally getting justice for what happened.
One shared: "Thank f*** that it’s all guilty, but she better not die, I want her to suffer prison for life! #emmerdale."
"Oooo two counts of guilty and Meena is kicking off! Then a third count of guilty!!! #Emmerdale," another added, as a third penned online: "OMG! She’s been found guilty!!! #emmerdale."
During the trial, Meena claimed she killed Ben in self-defence, whilst also saying Liam turned on her after she ended their 'affair'.
"He let her down as a father, and he needed someone to blame. Liam's not who people think he is, he's cruel, controlling and I was so scared. I thought he was going to kill me," she said to Liam.
Meena also horrifyingly claimed she had been pregnant with either Liam or Billy's baby, and had taken six tests to be sure, adding: "I didn't have the chance to register the pregnancy, because after Christmas Day and the pub explosion, I lost my baby."
