Emmerdale fans convinced of Scott Windsor return after mention

Emmerdale fans are convinced an old character could be about to return to the Dales following a rare mention.

During tonight's episode Brenda Walker and Bob Hope discussed Cathy's future after she struggled to sit her exams due to her suffering from Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder which can cause mood swings and difficulty concentrating. While school staff have suggested Cathy should defer her GCSEs for a year, the teen was completely against the idea.

Upset on her behalf, Bob and Brenda shared their frustrations over the situation and thought of ways to help and support her. One of Brenda's ideas was to take Cathy to see her half-brother Scott Windsor.

Brenda said: "I was thinking that I might take her away after her exams. To see Scott. She needs the break."

Bob agreed, saying: "He's always been good with her, I think she'd love that."

Scott, who was last played by Ben Freeman, left the village in 2007 to stay with an old army friend down in London. The character was initially written out due to rape allegations against the actor but once cleared of the charges, Ben did not return to the soap.

Some fans are convinced his return could be on the cards now that he has been mentioned. @ShakyWoon wrote on Twitter: "Scott Windsor mention."

@tamlizann25 also pointed it out, saying: "Brenda mentioning Scott."

@Chris1968E wrote: "A Scott mention," followed by a shocked face with exploding head emoji.

@Beckie_Miller_ commented below: "Bound to be bringing him back now then."

@mikepriestley13 tweeted: "Scott Windsor mention.. about time Ben Freeman reprises the role!"
