Emmerdale fans were a little puzzled about villain Alex Moore's comeback in recent episodes, as he turned on ex Dawn Taylor.
The character threatened her in menacing scenes, amid his cruel plan to steal drugs from the GP surgery in the village - using his girlfriend Naomi Walters in the process.
He made her believe he loved her and that their romance was genuine, when in fact he seemingly used her to get access to the surgery, as her stepmother Manpreet Sharma works there.
Dawn has been suspicious of her ex's return to the village so soon after a recent kidnap plot involving him, where he was told to leave for good.
Not only that, but the pair have a custody meeting coming up as Dawn wants full custody of both his children and needs him to play ball.
But Alex didn't take too kindly to her meddling with his romance last week, amid his evil plan.
Alex got into Dawn's car and threatened her, after being told by Naomi that Dawn had started on her, amid her warning her about Alex.
The villain threatened Dawn over the custody hearing and warned her to stay away, or things could get nasty.
But viewers were confused to see the character threatening his ex again, given just months ago Dawn's dad Will Taylor and her stepmother Kim Tate attacked him.
Kidnapping him, they agreed to let him go on the condition he stayed out of Dawn and the kids' lives and left the village for good.
Taking to Twitter, fans pointed out a flaw in the latest twist in the storyline, remembering what had happened last year.
Others questioned Will and Kim's "convenient" absence from the village just as Alex made his return.
One viewer said: "Where are Will and Kim? They warned Alex if he shows up again. Somebody tell them so they can boot Alex and another pathetic drugs storyline out of the village!"
Another fan tweeted: "Dawn needs to tell Will and Kim what Alex is up too. They would be out for Alex's blood if they knew that he was back in the village."
A third added: "Kim and Will conveniently absent from the Alex storyline after what they threatened him with if he returned."
Meanwhile, a fourth fan wrote: "And I come back to what i said earlier in the week - Why haven't Kim and Will been alerted that Alex is back as they threatened to kill him if he ever returned a few months back!"
The comments kept on coming too, with one reading: "Why is Alex still around when Kim & Will kidnapped him and threatened him to never return to," and another viewer said: "Why has Dawn Kim and Will not seen Alex in village?"
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
