Emmerdale fans call for 'horrible' homophobic character to be removed from soap

Emmerdale fans have called out shocking homophobic behaviour during an episode celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

During Monday night’s edition of Emmerdale, many villages got together for an event celebrating LGTBQ+ people. Councillor Colin Hamston attended the event but it is fair to say his support wasn’t strong.

Arriving at the hall, Cllr Hamston didn’t shake hands with Ethan Anderson - who is gay. After the snub, Ethan turned to his father, vicar Charles Anderson, and said: “I can’t believe there’s still people like that.”
