Emmerdale fans have begged Danny Miller to make a permanent return as Aaron Dingle as he headed back to set.
The I'm A Celebrity winner quit the ITV soap last year and subsequently took part - and won - the ITV show, but he will be making a brief return to the Yorkshire Dales this October to mark the soap's 50th anniversary. Aaron Dingle, Diane Sugden and Tracy Metcalfe are all set to make a brief return for storylines later this year, with a "huge" story ahead for one of the three.
Bosses have yet to reveal which returning character will be involved the most dramatic storyline, but they will all play a huge part in the upcoming celebrations. To celebrate his return, Danny took to social media to share a snap of him back in the village local.
Taking to Instagram, Danny posted a video of him drinking a bottle of beer in the infamous Woolpack Pub.
"Guess who’s back.. back AGAIN! News is out I’ve come back to celebrate the 50th year of @emmerdale. Let the drama begin!" Danny teased as he took a sip from the beer and said it was "good to be back".
Fans rushed to social media to congratulate Danny on his return - as they begged him to come back on the show for good.
"Yay just wish it was permanent," one wrote under his Instagram post, whilst another added: "So happy about this even though not full time ... Aaron needs to sort out Chas' obsession with Al."
A third penned: "how long you back? Don’t say just a short trip??!!" with a fourth writing: "Can’t wait to see your flawless talent back on the screen, just wish you’d come back full time at some point but you’ve got your adorable kid and lovely wife so I understand… just please hurry back to the dales, it’s not the same without you."
The ITV soap's producers had previously teased there would be drama ahead for the Dingles, especially if Aaron finds out that his mum Chas is cheating on her husband Paddy with none other than Al.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, producers Jane Hudson and Kate Brooks spilled on the returns and what it would mean for the villagers as drama continues to swirl in the sleepy Yorkshire village.
Kate shared: "We have the return of some very familiar faces to the Dales with Diane, Aaron, and Tracy. They will all be making a reappearance, albeit on a temporary basis, but they will come back. They'll be at the heart of some really big stories that will impact their lives, and not just their lives, but the lives of the characters they leave behind. So it's all really exciting, and it's all brilliant."
Jane went on to add: "So obviously we've got Diane, we've got Tracy, who's coming back with a bit of news of her own. So how's Nate going to respond to that? And of course, Aaron's back. Is Aaron gonna find out his mum's cheating on Paddy, who he sees as a father? Is he going to discover that Sandra's not all about Liv? So there's a huge story happening over there."
