Elsewhere, fans claimed Peter Kay might soon be appearing in Emmerdale. During Thursday evening’s hour-long episode of Emmerdale some of the villagers left for a big out in the bright lights of Leeds. We saw Ethan, Victoria, Roxy and Leyla and some of the other characters in a nightclub.

Ethan, who was recovering from his recent split from Darcy, said: “Leeds knows how to party.”

For much of the episode, Victoria tried to set Ethan up with a man. Although, it turned out the mysterious stranger actually had eyes for Victoria. On a more serious note, reformed drug addict Leyla resisted the temptation to relapse when the opportunity to have cocaine arose.

Although with lots going on around the dancefloor, Emmerdale viewers had their attention taken by the setting for the episode. Some were far from impressed by the nightclub likening it to Peter Kay creation Phoenix Nights.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer @fussyMcWhiskers said: “#emmerdale The dealers in a place like that? It doesn't look like a nightclub, it's more like a working man's club out of Phoenix Nights. Expecting Peter Kay to come on stage any minute.”

While @milliken86 added: “The nightclub looks like my school hall when we had end of term parties in the 90s #emmerdale.” Another viewer @MegWarr09285908 said: “This is quite possibly the worst nightclub I've ever seen #emmerdale.”

We saw @Ben6987 post: “Seriously why do soaps make the nightclubs look awful #emmerdale.” And, @lindibea agreed: “Worst nightclub ever.”
