Emmerdale Christmas Day episode: Caleb's bombshell, heartache and Liam drama

Emmerdale is lining up huge scenes this Christmas Day, following weeks of bombshells and lies unravelling.

But theres more secrets waiting to be exposed, and while Christmas sees the fallout of one betrayal there's another lurking around the corner.

There's a huge arrival set to rock the Dingles this festive period, after trying to make contact with them 30 years ago.

After a tough time for the family following the deaths of Faith Dingle and Liv Flaherty, health scares, cheating and murder, there's another twist in the tale.

Caleb Miligan arrives on Christmas Day, and confronts his secret brother Cain Dingle - who remains in prison over the murder of Al Chapman.

As Cain's son Kyle, Al's real killer, continues to struggle with his secret the family receive a shock when they learn of Caleb's existence.

The Christmas Day episode sees Caleb head to the village to ask Cain why he lied about Faith being dead all those years ago, after discovering her recent passing.

Meanwhile his sister Chas has no idea about him, as she finds herself alone after her affair with Al was rumbled.

As her husband Paddy and daughter Eve celebrate the day with pal Marlon Dingle, Chas finds it all a bit too awkward and sneaks off alone.

She finds herself at the grave of her daughter Grace, with the firework containing her mother Faith's ashes - only for a shocking bombshell to leave her reeling.

Elsewhere, and the villagers celebrate Christmas - with Ethan Anderson bringing everyone together in the village.

Liam Cavanagh fears he's bitten off more than he can chew (ITV)

He and partner Marcus Dean are still facing trouble at the hands of vile Greg, Ethan's boss who groped Marcus in recent scenes.

Christmas Day will see the pair focus on happier times - ahead of Greg bringing more trouble to their door.

Finally, and Liam Cavanagh fears he's bitten off more than he can chew when his visits to several households leave him struggling - but that's not all, as a Christmas kiss with Bernice Blackstock leaves him panicked.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
