Back-to-back wins over two of the biggest names in tennis provide the clearest sign yet that Emma Raducanu means business ahead of her U.S. Open title defence.
But it's a more laid-back approach, rather than a rise in intensity, that's helped the British No. 1 demolish Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka in quick succession. After dispatching the former in straight sets at the Cincinnati Open on Tuesday, Raducanu returned less than 24 hours later to hammer Azarenka 6-0, 6-2.
That level of consistency against two Grand Slam-winning opponents backed up what Raducanu has said this week about not getting "too low or high" about specific moments. Playing with a greater emphasis on the bigger picture is clearly working in her favour, with Raducanu still discovering what works best for her.
