Emirates Stadium set for major revamp as new Arsenal design plans revealed

Arsenal have confirmed that work has begun to revamp the exterior of the Emirates Stadium after existing artwork and crests were removed this week.

The club has been working closely with supporters since April as plans over new designs were discussed but providing an update on Tuesday, Arsenal said that they are now "very close to finalising eight pieces of art" described as "true to who we are, what we are, and who we represent as a club".

football.london can exclusively reveal that illustrations of nominated fans and Arsenal supporter group logos and banners are expected to be part of the eight designs in recognition of their incredible support. The current artwork surrounding the stadium is very player orientated but the club hopes that the additional fan representation will provide more of an Arsenal family feel to the ground.

As well as the inclusion of supporters, it’s understood that a lot of the focus has been on creating artwork that celebrates standout moments from the club’s history, although the final designs are yet to be approved.

In addition to the new designs going up around the Emirates facade, several other upgrades have been and continue to be installed within the stadium. New screens were put up during the summer and work continues on the roof after leaks were reported in certain areas.

While Arsenal are expected to reveal more details about the revamp in the coming weeks, it’s hoped that the full makeover will be completed by the new year.
