  • Chelsea have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez.
  • Villa boss Unai Emery claimed last week that Martinez has asked to leave the club, but he missed out on a move to Juventus earlier this summer.
  • According to BBC Sport , Chelsea are now considering a late move for the Argentine shot-stopper, and they have been in contact with the player’s representatives.
  • The goalkeeper position at Chelsea has come under scrutiny this week after Robert Sanchez struggled badly in his side’s 3-2 win over Fulham on Monday night.
  • Speaking after the game, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher claimed it was “impossible” for Chelsea to win the Premier League with Sanchez in goal.
