Emergency services scrambled to scene after pedestrian hit by car

Emergency services were called to Bury this afternoon after a pedestrian was hit by a car.

Police and paramedics were scrambled to Rufford Drive in Whitefield at around 4pm on Sunday (May 7).

A spokesman for GMP confirmed a pedestrian has been hit by a car travelling at “low speed”. Their condition is not yet known, however the M.E.N has asked for more information.

A witness, who passed the scene of the incident, said: “There were quite a lot of people out near the emergency vehicles - three police cars, two police 4x4s and an ambulance - we had to turn around near the shops and go Sunnybank way.”
