A horse was rescued by firefighters after getting stuck in mud. Magic the horse became stuck in a bog near The Strand in Attenborough, near the cricket club, on Thursday, June 9
Firefighters from the Highfields, Long Eaton and Alfreton fire stations attended where they found Magic with his head above the marsh. It is believed the six-year-old horse could have been stuck for a couple of hours before being discovered.
Magic was hard to spot under the vegetation, so crews worked to cut it back allowing rescue equipment to be put in place. The horse was in distress and moving around the bog which made it harder for the firefighters to rescue him.
