A teenage driver has been hospitalised after crashing into Grahamstown Dam near Raymond Terrace.
Police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to Richardson Road at Ferodale, which runs adjacent to the dam, about 7.30am on Wednesday, June 3.
Officers arrived on scene and helped the driver from the car.
A NSW Police spokesperson said inquiries were under way on Wednesday to find out how and why the car went into the water.
A spokesman for NSW Fire and Rescue said three trucks were dispatched to the scene.
On arrival, the deployed firefighters helped Hunter Water crews pull the car from the dam.
The driver was examined by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene.
She was then taken to hospital in a stable condition for further assessment, authorities confirmed.
Emergency services remained at the scene into the mid-morning.
Drivers have been urged to drive carefully in the area as the operation continues to unfold.
