Hitmaker Emeli Sande has announced that she's engaged to her girlfriend Yoana Karemova after coming out earlier this year. The Read All About It, Next To Me and Beneath Your Beautiful singer revealed the joyous news on her Instagram that classical pianist Yoana had popped the question.
Posting a photo of herself showing off her sparkler of an engagement ring as she beamed with delight, Emeli exclaimed: "I said yes!" with a love heart emoji. The congratulations came pouring in led by Radio 2 DJ Zoe Ball who said with two red rose emojis: "Congrats gorgeous girls."
Emeili, 35, shared the news that she was in a same-sex relationship in an interview in March. On April 2 she posted a loving picture of herself and her 'soul mate' partner on social media with a heartfelt message.

She wrote: "It’s taken me many years to find the strength to be myself. I’ve struggled for a long time to accept myself as I am. I’m so lucky to have found my soul mate Yoana, she’s such an extraordinary woman! Falling in love with her gave me the strength I needed! Feels so good to be in love and I feel happier than ever."
She added: "I’m deeply touched by all your messages of love and support. Thank you so much for your acceptance and kind wishes. Feels like a huge weight has been lifted, here’s to a new beginning in truth and happiness!"
And Yoana wrote: "Love of my life, so proud of you baby. My soul mate, my everything." In July Emeli shared a photo of the smitten pair gazing at each other. "When I look in your eyes, feels like I’ve just seen heaven for the very first time," she told her partner.
Emeli was previously married to marine biologist Adam Gouraguine in 2012 and revealed that they had divorced in 2014 after 10 years together.
Her debut album Our Version of Events spent 10 weeks at number one and became the best-selling album of 2012 in the UK and in the same year she performed in both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympics.
The following years he won two awards Best British Female Solo Artist and British Album of the Year at the Brit Awards. In 2017 Emeli was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 Birthday Honours for services to music.
