Tesla CEO Elon Musk says he wants to make use of xAI to create video games so that he can compete with the major corporations in the industry.

The billionaire entrepreneur recently entered the gaming industry and started to complain about the supposed "woke" parts of the environment. He said that he will start his own AI-based game studio so that he can help "make games great again."

AI-Centric Game Studio

Musk's tweet on social media was mainly made as a response to a user who started to question the current state of the video games industry.

His post immediately raised questions from the public about the viability of such an endeavor, even given the entrepreneur's resources.

A lot of his predictions and ideas did not exactly pan out despite his many accomplishments in other fields. One example is that he previously claimed that everyone would soon use X as a banking app, according to Forbes.

But given his remarks, it is so far unclear what Musk meant when he said "AI game studio" as he did not provide any further details about his plans. While AI has certainly spread in a lot of industries, the public has widely rejected its use in the gaming industry.

In particular, even just traces of AI being used to create game art or storytelling have faced widespread criticism from gamers and developers.

The main question with Musk's plan would be how many game studios would be willing to work under a Musk-led AI-centric video game company.

Elon Musk's Vision

The situation comes as Musk recently criticized Microsoft's Xbox team over allegations that they have been taking their efforts for diversity, equity, and inclusion too far.

He asked on social media why they can't just make good games and skip the "woke lecture," PCMag said.

Musk also said that "having pronouns in a fantasy video game is utterly unacceptable." He also shared a screenshot from the upcoming game Avowed by Xbox. The title will apparently let the player select their character's gender.

This could mean that the billionaire entrepreneur's AI game studio, if it does become a reality, will push his politics and views in the ongoing culture wars. However, creating an AAA title takes a lot of money and time, which could stifle Musk's plans.

He also recently teased that he could acquire entertainment company Hasbro. If he does buy the company, it would give him ownership of various iconic franchises, such as Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, according to Game Rant.
