The Saint Peter’s Peacocks are the biggest underdog story of March Madness this year. After upsetting No. 2 Kentucky then No. 7 Murray State, the Peacocks have reached the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history.
Due to their underdog status, the Peacocks have garnered fans from all over. And you know who else is in their corner? Eli Manning!
On Thursday, Manning tweeted a picture of himself in a Peacocks shirt, showing his support for a team he says he’s been cheering for for years. Given that Saint Peter’s is a school located in Jersey City, it makes sense for the long-time New York Giants quarterback to be a fan of his local team.
What? I have been cheering for Saint Peter’s for years. They are my local New Jersey basketball team. Go Peacocks!! pic.twitter.com/lHrGPgW9NL

Given that the Peacocks are going up against No. 3 Purdue Boilermakers on Friday, they’ll need all the well wishes and support they can get as they look to continue their Cinderella run into the Elite Eight.
