Chad Powers, the fictional quarterback created by former New York Giants star Eli Manning who once crashed walk-on tryouts at Penn State, is coming to Hulu.
Variety reported Thursday that actor Glen Powell, who recently appeared in Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone But You, will star as Powers in a half-hour comedy series on Hulu inspired by Manning’s skit.
Manning, however, isn’t so impressed.
“I hope Glen is working on his QB skills,” Manning posted to social media on Thursday. “I saw him throw a football in Maverick … he has some work to do!!”

One of the most famous scenes from the movie Top Gun: Maverick, especially among sports fans, was the confusing game of “dogfight football.”
With a San Diego beach playing the role as the gridiron, the cast of Navy pilots battled in a game that featured two footballs in play. Somehow, both teams on the beach were simultaneously on offense and defense.
"I played football growing up in Texas," Powell said to USA Today in 2022. “And I don't get the rules of dogfight football. They make absolutely no sense."

Powell, shirtless of course, was filmed throwing and catching the football in the scene.
He put film on tape. But Manning would like to see more.
