An elderly woman was rushed to hospital after being "savagely" attacked by a rat while she slept.

Diana Kirk was found in bed 'with blood everywhere' by her horrified husband John at 5.45am on May 9.

The 76-year-old has brain damage and sleeps downstairs in a hospital bed, according to the Mirror.
