Eid-ul-Adha, also known as Bakrid, is the 'festival of Qurbani' or the feast of sacrifice. It is one of the most important festivals for Muslims around the world. This pious festival is celebrated in the month of Zul Hijjah of the Islamic calendar every year. This year, the festival will begin on July 9 evening and end on July 10.
To celebrate this festival, people of the Islamic community sacrifice an animal to mark their devotion to Almighty Allah. After the sacrifice has been made, the offering is distributed among family, friends and all people in need.
