With the price of food soaring all over the world, Qurbani donations are needed more than ever.
Traditionally, Qurbani is practised by slaughtering an animal, usually a goat, sheep, cow, or camel with one-third of the meat given to the family, one-third to neighbours, and one-third to the poor. However, many families are unable to afford their Qurbani this year and rely on donations from others.
Fortunately, there are a variety of ways Muslims can donate their Qurbani nowadays, such as donating to a charity that can provide Qurbani meat on your behalf. We have broken down a variety of charities in the UK which are offering Qurbani donations for affordable prices.

Human Appeal
Human Appeal offers a Qurbani donation from around £26 which can provide up to 30 families with meals in India. A variety of other prices are available for a number of countries most in need of donations such as Yemen, Somalia, Bangladesh, Syria and more.
The charity has been dealing with Qurbani donations for over 30 years and provides hundreds of thousands of families with Qurbani meat every year. Human Appeal also says it sources meat from local farmers with well-cared animals to ensure it's fresh and nutritious for those that need it most.

Orphans in Need
Orphans in Need provides quality meals to thousands of families in need and living in poverty. Qurbani donations can be offered as low as £25 this year which will provide a share of one large animal in India - according to the charity's website, this would be a buffalo which can be split into seven shares for seven different people.
The charity is also running a live Qurbani TV appeal on the Islam Channel on the first day of Eid - Saturday, July 2.

Muslim Hands
Muslim Hands were founded in 1993 by a community in Nottingham after witnessing the destruction of the Bosnian war. Since then, they have grown in an international aid agency that provides relief all around the world.
Their lowest Qurbani donation is £35 which will provide food for families in Malawi. Muslim Hands also allows contributors to decide which country they want their money to go to.
Currently, the emergency countries on the charity's list are Kashmir, India, Rohingya (refugees), Somalia, Syria, and Yemen.

Islamic Relief
One of the most well-known Islamic charities in the UK, Islamic Relief has been operating Qurbani projects since 1986. In 2013, Islamic Relief performed approximately 110,000 Qurbanis, benefitting over two million people around the world.
The charity guarantees the meat is purchased from local suppliers in order to benefit the local economy, it's distributed fresh, frozen, or canned, depending on the circumstances- the majority of countries will receive fresh meat. Islamic Relief doesn't discriminate, widowed women, orphaned children, refugees and poor, elderly and disabled people all receive Qurbani, many of whom can't afford to eat meat regularly.
"When families receive Qurbani meat, it fosters a real sense of hope for them and allows them to celebrate this important occasion along with millions of other Muslims across the world," they state on their website.
