EFI makes Indian riders 'scapegoats', suspend them for 2 years each for impersonation

NEW DELHI: They risked their careers and impersonated as Nepalese horsemen, the Equestrian Federation of India's (EFI) officials, including secretary general Col Jaiveer Singh, applauding and cheering them from the stands at the ITPF Tent Pegging World Cup Qualifiers in Greater Noida in March last year.

Now, nearly a year later, the same quartet of Indian riders who stood third on the podium masquerading as Nepalese nationals, found themselves being made the scapegoats. They were suspended for two years each by the EFI's highest decision-making body - the Executive Committee (EC) - for the federation's own misdemeanour.
