Edinburgh Zoo has announced plans for after-hours events for grown-ups to celebrate its Giraffe About Town trail hitting the streets this summer.
The wildlife park, which is run by the Royal Zoological Society Scotland, posted on its Facebook page that the events will be exclusively for people aged 18 and above.
They said: "Join our handsome herd this summer as we open our gates after hours, just for grown-ups!
"In partnership with Glenmorangie, these dedicated strictly 18+ events will celebrate #GiraffeAboutTown hitting Edinburgh streets in July."
Ideal for date nights, they added that there will be acoustic sets by the lawn with local food and drink kiosks throughout.
Running over three selected weekends:
- Friday 24 and Saturday 25 June
- Friday 8 and Saturday 9 July
- Friday 12 and Saturday 13 August
The events will feature three timeslots – 6 pm, 6.15 pm and 6.30 pm – with guests able to arrive after their booked time and last entry being 8 pm and the event closing at 9:30 pm.
Tickets are priced at £18.50 with a £4 discount for members.
Though these evening events are dedicated adults-only nights, the zoo added that they also have a range of family and member-only evenings available to choose from.
They added: "If you fancy a dino-mite night out with the family in tow, check out our dinosaur-themed After Hours."
This summer, over 40 eight-foot-tall giraffe sculptures will create a special trail to raise vital funds for wildlife conservation work around the world.
In partnership with Wild in Art, the event will see the herd of individually designed giraffes go on display across Edinburgh in summer 2022 to help the capital recover after lockdown.
