Edinburgh is set to be as hot as Tenerife this weekend with BBC weather forecasters predicting over a week of sunshine with highs of 21C starting from Thursday, May 25.
The capital has had a warm but muggy start to the week with some showers and temperatures of 15C, but it's only going to get hotter as sunny days and hot weather are forecast from Thursday across the weekend and into the following week.

Edinburgh locals are going to be treated to nine days of sun with Saturday, May 27 hitting 19C by lunchtime and continuing into the early evening.
The heatwave will continue right through the following week and into the first weekend of June with five days next week forecast to be 20C or more.
BBC Weather wrote: "This afternoon will see cloud and any showers in the east clear, leaving sunny spells and dry conditions for most. A few showers are possible in the far north and north-west, however. Breezy."
Tonight they predicated: "A widely dry and clear evening with a few patches of cloud around. Becoming cloudier overnight as areas of cloud approach from the west, leaving the chance of isolated light showers in the west."

Finally, they added: "Tomorrow will be quite cloudy with a few spots of light rain in the far north and north-west. Remaining dry with some sunny spells towards the south and the east, however.
"Wednesday will turn a little windier and there is a chance of a few spells of rain in the west, mainly in the morning. In the afternoon, it should become mostly dry with some brighter spells breaking through.
"Thursday looks to be cloudy in the north-west, but sunshine is expected elsewhere. Friday should continue dry with longer spells of sunshine for all."
