Hundreds of Edinburgh music lovers heading to TRNSMT festival next month could be left stranded in Glasgow due to ongoing rail strikes.
The three-day festival is set to attract thousands of people from all over Scotland, with the likes of Paolo Nutini and West Lothian star Lewis Capaldi featuring in the line-up. Taking place on July 8 to July 10, a number of trains should have been running between Edinburgh and Glasgow to allow ticket holders to travel there and back easily.
However, warnings have now been issued that those coming from Edinburgh may need to leave early or make alternate arrangements if they need to get a train home to the capital.

According to the Sun, the organisers of TRNSMT said some may have to “leave early to catch the last train” after forking out for a ticket.
On the Friday and Saturday, the RMT rail strike has meant the last train back to Edinburgh is scheduled to leave 45 minutes before the festival will end.

Sunday schedules will leave those heading through even more limited, with just a few trains set to run throughout Scotland.
A Transport Scotland spokesman said: “Contingency options will be confirmed nearer the event.”
ScotRail head of customer operations Phil Campbell said: “We’re sorry to customers for the disruption.”
