An Edinburgh train passenger was rushed to hospital following an assault onboard a service in the capital.
Officers from British Transport Police have launched an appeal after a man was left with cuts to his legs, face and bruising to his ribs and face following an attack between Waverley and Haymarket.
The incident took place on March 12, on the 8:40pm service to Helensburgh Central. Police are asking anyone who have have witnessed the assault to get in touch.

They say: "Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by calling 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016 – with reference 2300028631.
"Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
