An Edinburgh train passenger has issued a heartfelt plea after a suitcase packed with personal belongings, including a necklace from her mother, was taken by a fellow passenger.
Francesca, who was travelling on the train from Waverley to London on Saturday, April 8, says when it stopped at York, another passenger took her case instead of their own - leaving her with a random case with someone else's items inside.
Despite alerting staff at the station and tweeting about the incident, Francesca is yet to hear any news about the whereabouts of her case - which was also filled with clothes and smaller personal affects.

More importantly, the necklace Francesca's mother gave her was inside. She has issued a plea to anyone who may recognise it to come forward.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live about the ordeal, student Francesca, originally from China, said: "I was going to London with my friends and the case was stored above my head.
"When we stopped at York a lot of people got off. Once everyone had left I suddenly realised my suitcase was gone. Both cases were quite similar. The one left behind was dark blue and the same brand as mine.
"The case that I was left with just contained some shoes, clothing and a bottle of wine. I alerted staff who helped me initially but I haven't heard anything else since I returned the case to the station on York.
"I was hoping the person would realise and come back to see if I had handed it in and hand mine in. The necklace in particular is sentimental to me and I just want it back, it means a lot.
"Thankfully my documents and essential items were in my handbag which was beside me and not in my case at the time."
Francesca described the case as all-black, with a spacious front storage pouch. The case is also fitted with a security luggage lock. She added that it may have been the girl sitting beside her on the train who accidently took her case as she reached for one that was next to Francesca's.
