Edinburgh has been issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice next week, as forecasters predict widespread disruption to travel and everyday life.
The warning, for snow and ice, will fall into place at 12am on Monday morning and remain in place until 11.59pm on Tuesday night, with residents urged to brace for wintry conditions throughout next week.
Forecasters at the Met Office have said: "Snow showers are likely to cause some disruption to travel with a small chance of more widespread disruption for some."

The weather forecast predicts lows of -5C next Tuesday, with sub-zero temperatures breeding the perfect weather for ice to form on roads and pavements.
People are being told to expect travel delays on roads, with the chance of stranded vehicles and passengers - alongside delayed or cancelled air and rail travel.
There is also a slight chance that some rural communities could be cut off, with injuries from falls on ice also likely.
Power cuts could also occur, with other services such as mobile phone coverage affected by the yellow weather warning.
In the Met Office forecast, it reads: "A band of rain, sleet and snow is expected to move south during Monday followed by frequent snow and hail showers.
"Whilst the highest accumulations of 5-10 cm are most likely over northern Scotland, there is a small chance of more organised and persistent spells of snow developing elsewhere in this area, and could bring 2 to 5 cm even at lower levels.
"Into Monday night, showers are expected to continue, and ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces where snow has melted by day."
East Lothian, Perth and Kinross, Fife, Midlothian and the Scottish Borders are areas close by that are also affected by this weather warning.
