Edinburgh Scotrail trains cancelled as major communications fault wreaks havoc

A number of Edinburgh trains have been disrupted this morning due to Scotrail communication issues between drivers and signallers affecting a number of routes in and out of the city.

Routes affected so far are Edinburgh to Helensburgh Central and Milngavie to Edinburgh via Airdrie, a number of replacement buses have been put in place but Scotrail are strongly advising customers to check before travelling as there are a number of disruptions to services across the country.

Ticket acceptance is in place with Edinburgh Trams between Edinburgh and Edinburgh Park. Just show your valid ticket or Smartcard to the on-tram staff.
