Designs for dozens of new student flats at a proposed block yards away from a second major development in Gorgie have been unveiled.
The Host accommodation on Westfield Road will boast a series of five, six and eight bedroom properties complete with kitchen and living space in a “cluster” format, according to plans put forward by Tiger Developments.
A public consultation on the proposals, built on the site of a disused office block, was launched on Wednesday.

It will be the second student housing project to get underway on the street, with a block at 24 Westfield Road already under construction.
Planning permission is yet to be given for the block, but bosses at Tiger say the flats will provide “the redevelopment of a vacant site within Edinburgh’s urban area” and feature “external and internal amenity spaces, access, cycle parking and landscaping”.
A 400-bed, seven-storey development near Murrayfield Stadium gained planning approval in 2019, with building work getting underway last year.

That development will feature study rooms, a games area, a gym and a cinema as part of a £20 million project.
The Host building, valued at around £14.4m, could provide a base for up to 300 students.
Tiger developments added: “The initial proposals have been discussed with the City of Edinburgh Council planning department, as part of their formal pre-application process, along with taking account of the characteristics of the site and surrounding context.”
