A concerned Edinburgh resident has said that she feels unsafe in her own community as lawless teens continuously carry out antisocial behaviour.
The worried Broomhouse Crescent resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, says that she has to watch from her window fearing that her own or neighbours cars may be badly damaged.
At around 9:30pm on Tuesday October 11, two male teens were heard smashing glass bottles across the street. One male then proceeded to chase a young girl with the broken glass, putting it close to her face despite her pleas for him to stop.

They then continued to smash glass bottles over parked and oncoming vehicles on the road. The resident added that this is not the first time that this sort of behaviour has occurred and that it often makes her feel “unsafe.”
She said: “They were standing outside a house and one of them got a hold of a wine and beer bottle from the recycling bin and started breaking it by hitting the ground. They then started chasing the girl with it.
“She could be heard screaming ‘oh stop it, that is not even funny, seriously just stop that.’ But the boy kept shocking the broken bottle in her face.
“Then the other taller boy found a plank of wood and picked it up and started chasing the shorter boy, who was wearing a puffer jacket, around the street. They then started to get more glass bottles from other recycling boxes and began throwing them at cars and vehicles that were coming onto the road.
“It was the sound of them shouting and breaking glass that got my attention. I began calling the police but just hung up as thought they would be gone by the time they arrived.
“I just feel sorry for those kids having to think that this is normal behaviour. I told them the police would be on their way but they seemed unbothered.”
She added that this sort of behaviour is a regular occurrence and that at times all she can do is try to block it out after a long day at work. She said: “I work as a community carer and can be working from 07:00am until 10:30pm at night.
“When I come home to park my car and see all this going on it is disgusting. You become unsettled in your own home and neighbourhood which is a terrible feeling.”
