A new study has revealed that Edinburgh is in the top five for the best night out in the UK, in comparison with the likes of Newcastle, Aberdeen and Cambridge.
The study by Get Licensed, analysed the number of venues per head, the cost of a pint and a range of safety issues to reveal the best nights out in Britain.
Edinburgh has been named as the fifth best place to go for a night-out in the UK, with a low chance of robbery, high chance of a good pint of beer and over score of 7.63 out of 10.

Newcastle upon Tyne was crowned the best UK city for a night out with a score of 8.19.
In addition to having one of the highest rankings for the number of prestigious CAMRA pubs (211 per 100,000), the city has a wide variety of bars and nightclubs where you can dance the night away (66 per 100,000 people).
The price of a beer in Newcastle averages at around £4.20 a pint, which is fairly cheap compared to other big cities in the North.
Compared to this, Edinburgh had a score of 113 per 100,000 rating for good pubs in the area, with the average pint of beer costing £5.68.
Telford is the safest city for a night out, with a safety index score of 74.4.
Resident surveys revealed that just three per cent worried about being assaulted due to hate crime, and 23 per cent worried about being robbed or mugged.

Compared to this, the capital had a 24 per cent average of people who worried about being assaulted, with 61 per cent of people saying they feel safe walking alone at night in Edinburgh.
