Edinburgh locals have hit out at the price of tickets for a two-week kids event being held at a popular park this month.
The Nickelodeon Experience is marketed as 'an exciting and fun-filled event aimed at younger kids'. It starts on Saturday, July 2, at Saughton Park, and will run for two weeks.
Despite the event being set to attract hundreds of kids from across the capital, if not more, all eyes have instead been on the price of tickets, which are currently priced at £29.50 for children, and £19.50 for adults.
The 'first of its kind' event is being held to give children a chance to get some insight into their favourite childhood shows, with Nickelodeon providing some of the most popular shows for the younger generation for decades.

With the event being announced back in March, locals have had a lot of time to prepare and look forward to the immerse interactive experience, with several different stages and cinema screenings being erected.
Although the fact that the event will appeal to children is undisputed, many locals have vented their frustration over the 'steep' prices of tickets, given that a three-hour slot for families is permitted. With a family of three or four kids, the price for the day could easily reach well over £100, that's without the children reaching the shop yet.
Large white tents have been erected in Saughton Park as the buzz starts to build in the area, although many mums and dads are essentially boycotting the event due to the prices.
Leaving comments on Edinburgh Live's initial story when the event was announced, one unhappy punter said: "Tickets start from £30... Aye okay."
Another said: "Doesn't look worth £30 for a ticket." One added: "Yeah at £30 a ticket, not exactly cheap."
Toddlers under the age of two can access the event for free, while the 'Early Years' category for those aged between two and three will be charged £25. Children aged between four and 14 will have to fork out £29.50.
One woman soon totted up the price for her family, saying: "The price for my daughter and three sons is ridiculous at almost £100 - so in today's climate the answer is NO."
Another added: "Over £100 for a large family of about five kids is ridiculous, how are child's tickets so much more expensive than adults?."
The Nickelodeon Experience declined to comment on the matter.
