An Edinburgh mum has revealed how disability benefits have afforded her daughter opportunities that she would never have had otherwise.
Caroline Milburn has encouraged others to explore whether they are eligible for benefits such as the Child Disability Payment. Her daughter Piper, nine, was told that she would not be able to walk until the age of six but has defied all odds with her progress.
Mum Caroline says a lot of this is down to the support they have received through disability benefits which have provided financial support to families and carers to cover the extra costs involved for caring for a disabled child or young person, the Daily Record reports.
