Edinburgh man, 51, rushed to hospital after hit and run involving truck

Edinburgh Police are appealing to the public for any information after a 51-year-old was hit by a flatbed truck in Danderhall and rushed to hospital on Monday morning.

The flatbed truck was carrying ladders and after striking the middle aged man fled the scene leaving the injured pedestrian on his own to be rushed to hospital.

The incident happened at The Wisp between Millerhill Road and Edmonstone Road, around 9.55am on Monday, 7 February, 2022.

Police Sergeant Paul Ewing of the Road Policing Unit said : “I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1337 of 7 February, 2022."
