Beginning on Wednesday, July 27, a section of the road running eastbound from Junction 3A to Junction 3 will be closed off, with motorists to use alternative routes.
Out of action from 8.30pm until 6am the following morning, a signed diversion route will be in place from Junction 3A to Junction 3 via the A779, A89 and A899, adding approximately seven minutes and 5.5 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M8.

“A carriageway closure is essential for the safety of workers and motorists, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise any disruption.
“We will do all we can to complete the project as quickly as possible and thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
