An Edinburgh Lidl store has confirmed it will finally reopen this month following a huge three-month makeover.
The supermarket at the Newkirkgate shopping centre in Leith is usually a popular spot for picking up messages, but has been shut for some time to allow for a number of 'upgrades'.
However, Lidl have announced that the site will be welcoming back customers in just a couple of weeks' time, with the store reopening on November 24.

Making changes inside the store, the works have given the shop a huge refurbishment and modernisation inside, with the site featuring a new bakery prep area.
Changes have also been made to ensure there is a "lighter and brighter shopping experience". as well as new LED lighting in the car park and enhancements to the warehouse.

Customers will also be able to make use of the store’s new recycling station, which will feature state-of-the-art reverse vending machines and will be in operation prior to the launch of the Scottish Government’s Deposit Return Scheme in August 2023
Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Gordon Rafferty, commented: “We would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding these past three months while renovation works to our Newkirkgate store have taken place.
