Edinburgh KFC 'sorry' after vegan customer fumes at 'saddest ever' burger

An Edinburgh KFC customer was left fuming after his vegan burger failed to live up to expectations.

The diner hit out at the fast food chain after claiming his order turned out to be the "saddest looking meal" he had had in a long time.

After heading to the Nicholson Street eatery on January 17, the customer had been looking forward to enjoying his "first KFC in a year".

Ordering the chain's reasonably new vegan burger, they had expected the Quorn fillet to live up to the hype it created when first released.

However, after opening up the box, the customer told Edinburgh Live the burger had been less than impressive, with no visible sauce and only a few sparse bits of lettuce.

Speaking about their order, they said: "I was just disappointed, especially as this was the first KFC I'd had in over a year.

"My vegan burger was the saddest looking meal I've had for a long time.

"It reassured me I hadn't missed much."

A KFC Spokesperson said: “Oh no! This certainly doesn’t meet the Colonel’s high standards and that’s why we’re checking in with the team to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

"We’re really sorry and would love for the guest to get in touch so we can make things right.”
