Edinburgh getting Innis & Gunn 'Ultimate Beer Hall' with live music and food

Beer-makers Innis & Gunn have announced a huge Oktoberfest-type event for Edinburgh, with the company's 'Ultimate Beer Hall' landing in the capital soon.

Edinburgh has the pleasure of hosting the first-of-its-kind event in May, with the aim of bringing the lager-drinking joy of the popular Oktoberfest to a year-round audience.

Innis & Gunn have tried to recreate the mini-festival vibe by launching the beer hall, with a number of UK-wide events planned in the future. Included in the event will be interactive stage games, flash beer giveaways, prizes, crowd singing and an of course, a great mix of local street food.

The Biscuit Factory, near Leith, will be taken over by organisers and beer-lovers for the event, with five sessions being put on over four different dates between Thursday, May 5 - Sunday, May 8.

Guests can expect mass singalongs from Innis & Gunn's 'Human Jukebox', a live band with guests able to suggest songs and vote for upcoming tracks by cheering for their choices.

The event is also set to be the biggest of its kind, welcoming around two thousands people across the five sessions in the capital, with activities and entertainment held both indoors and out, with long bench style seating, projections from local creatives and a bar offering wine and spirits.

Tickets are available via the Innis & Gunn website now and also include a free pint of lager on arrival. Ticket must be booked in advance.

Dougal Gunn Sharp, Founder and Master Brewer, Innis & Gunn said: "We all love the unique anticipation and excitement that Oktoberfest gives people; the expectation that you will enjoy pints of Lager and make new drinking buddies as you experience the craziness of the event going on around you.

"Everyone loves Oktoberfest but we have reimagined it, so that we can put it on whenever we want. And let’s face it, now is the time. After being locked down for two years, we need to get everyone together for a unique experience, to cut loose, sing, dance and celebrate in a way that only Oktoberfest-style Lager drinking can deliver.

"Booking is now open for what will is set to be a sell out event."
